Town Manager/Clerk

The Town of Hearts Content is accepting applications for the position of Town Manager/Clerk.This will be a year-round permanent position with a 6-month probation period. Working hours will be a minimum of 35hrs per-week.  Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm The successful candidate will also be required to attend evening council meetings (bi-weekly or monthly).

Required Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of office procedures
  • Knowledge of municipal legislation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct accounting tasks
  • Computer literate
  • Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or any equivalent combination of education and solid experience
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft 365, as well as accounting and asset management software
  • Familiar with the use of social media
  • Experience with dealing with the public

Other Assets

  • Proficient in use of Sage 50 Accounting System and “Asset Management” software.
